Acting
I forgot how much fun it was to be on stage and act. It’s fun to just play another role other than the law abiting citezen that I am, off the stage. You get to pretend that you are someone else for a little bit. You actually get to be a kid all over again. I haven’t been in a school play since middle school. Well not counting the small roles in Asian Club during High School. Those plays just doesn’t seem like it was something that took me out of my element.
I just recently started performing on stage again. Currently in a musical called The Pirates of Penzance. It’s so motivating when I receive good reviews from strangers on my personal performance in the play. Not to mention how much fun I have. Yesterday my professor, who saw the play, said that we were very professional on stage and there weren’t any provocative things on stage and it was still funny. Well umm…good thing she didn’t see us backstage and heard our jokes about the big black long sticks that we carried around with us. LOL
In the musical I play a Pirate for the first half of the show then I play a cop in the second part. Personally, I prefer it as a cop because it’s more of a goofy role, the pirate part just seems to serious for me. All and all I’m having the time of my life in theatre. I’m even thinking about doing more shows in the future, but maybe not soon. It does take a lot out of my personal life too and my paychecks are not as high as they used to be. Lol
